The Center was created in July 1997. Its goal is the promotion of the open civil society development in the Crimea (Ukraine), democratic relations formation by the way of conducting various researches and its results inculcation, holding seminars, conferences, publications in newspapers, magazines.The center is located in Simferopol, Crimea, Ukraine.

Partners of the Center are IREX ProMedia press-center, Prosvita society, Scientists’ society “Crimea with Ukraine”, Crimean branch of Helsinki Civil Assembly, Crimean association of independent journalists, Crimean center for independent political researchers and journalists.

The Center’s activities are financed through its members sponsorship, private donations and grants of charitable foundations.

Main tasks:

- organization and conduct of various researches and opinion polls and spreading its result;

- supplying with informational and technical help in conducting researches;

- providing with informational, educational, consultative services;

- information spreading through publishing activities;

- providing scientists and scholars with opportunity to attend different seminars, congresses, workshops in Ukraine and abroad.
